Grades 6 – 12
(Current Grades 5-11)
Current students in Grades 5
All course requests will be made through Genesis. Parents of current grade 5 (incoming grade 6) students will complete the request process online. All student requests will be reviewed by counselors at all grade levels.
Genesis Parent Access will be open for parents of current grade 5 (incoming grade 6) students from February 11, 2025 through February 18, 2025.
Recommendations will be visible to parents during this process.
Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to follow the current course recommendation.*Starting in the 2022-2023 school year, there will be no option for a parent appeal for Grade 5 Accelerated Math or Grade 6 Accelerated Math Programs. There is a math data collection process during the school year to identify eligible students. If students meet the criteria of each data point and have completed the prerequisite courses, they will be notified and admitted into the accelerated math programs. If your child is not eligible for Grade 5 or Grade 6 Accelerated Math, they will still have the opportunity to take 7th Advanced Math and Algebra I in 8th grade. Current students in Grades 6 - 7
All course requests will be made through Genesis. Parents of incoming 6-7 grade students will complete the request process online. All student requests will be reviewed by counselors at all grade levels.
Genesis Parent Access will be open for parents of students in grades 6-7 from February 11, 2025 through February 18, 2025.
Teacher recommendations will be visible to parents during this process.
Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to follow the recommendation of the current classroom teacher. Parents opting for their child to take a course other than that which has been recommended must initiate and complete the appeal process (instructions for process below) by March 7, 2025. Note: Prerequisite course requirements may not be appealed.
Current students in Grades 8 - 11
All course requests will be made through Genesis. Parents of incoming 9-12 grade students will complete the request process online. All student requests will be reviewed by counselors at all grade levels, and high school counselors will meet with students individually to discuss graduation requirements, college planning, etc.
Genesis Parent Access will be open for parents of incoming 9-12 students (current 8-11 graders) from February 11, 2025 through February 18, 2025.
Teacher recommendations will be visible to parents during this process. Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to follow the recommendation of the current classroom teacher. Parents opting for their child to take a course other than that which has been recommended must initiate and complete the appeal process (appeal form below) by March 7, 2025.
